Emergency Action Day

Our very popular Emergency Action Day Course is especially designed to give candidates a greater awareness of the dangers of fire, and an understanding of what to do in case of fire. The training combines fire safety with first aid training to enable candidates to deal confidently and effectively with basic medical emergencies. It covers the following:

Fire Safety

• The theory of combustion
• Basic fire precautions
• Fire routines
• Fire classification
• Fire alarms and evacuation procedures
• Human behaviour in the event of fire
• Liaison with the Fire Service
• Using a fire extinguisher

First Aid

• Basic life support to current guidelines
• Choking and airway managements
• The unconscious casualty
• Management of breathing
• Dealing with shock
• fracture management
• Miscellaneous conditions
• First Aid box contents

Course attendees will be given practical experience in the use of various types of fire extinguisher, including a fire blanket, using our safe Live Fire Unit, which simulates a real fire scenario.
